Hector Barbera ready for French GP after injury at Estoril - MotoGP News
Mapfre Aspar team’s rider, Hector Barbera, is ready to participate in the Monster Energy Grand Prix de France, to be held on May 15. He had a vertebra fracture in the previous round at Estoril.
Spanish rider, Aspar is headed towards France with confidence after recovering from the fracture he sustained in bwin Grande Premio de Portugal. His third round was called-off early, when he had a fall on the fourth corner in the race’s first lap.
Barbera was also not able to ride in the official test held on the next day of the Portuguese race. After the accident on race day, he underwent a recovery programme and within a week’s time, he was back and able to get into his personal trainings to become
fit, for the upcoming race event.
Le Mans is one of his best finished events from last season, where he scored an eighth place in the round. Now, he is looking forward to put his progress in test and achieve better results for the rest of the season. The Spaniard has made progress after
the third round of 2011 MotoGP season, where ended with a ‘Not Classified’ status along with Marco Simoncelli of San Carlo Honda Gresini. Despite his downfall in the race, he has managed to recover in time and looks set to impress, in Le Mans.
Hector Barbera, while speaking about the upcoming French round, said, “Le Mans is a circuit I like a lot and I tend to go well there. I had one of my best results of last season there and if I was able to do that in 2010 then I should be much better this
time around.”
The crash at Estoril has made him more desperate to perform and put the mishap in the previous event behind him.
Barbera asserted that he feels better with his back and has totally recovered from the fracture. The Spaniard seems motivated for the race weekend, as his favourite track is the Le Mans, which has broader turns of his liking.
