Hector’s Chance to pair up wins by capturing the Southwark News Proudly Supports Millwall Handicap at Kempton
Kempton will stage the Class 5 Southwark News Proudly Supports Millwall Handicap over a mile and four furlongs on Tuesday, 22nd May. The race has attracted a line-up of eleven runners and quite a few are pretty proficient at racing at Kempton.
Hector’s Chance, Byron’s three-year-old chestnut gelding out of mare, Fleur A Lay, has raced twice during the new season and both the races were at Kempton, a third place and then a win.
He cracked into the new season by taking part in the Betdaq Mobile Apps Median Auction Maiden Stakes on 11th April over a mile and three furlongs. The race was won by the 5/4 favourite of the race, Expense Claim, who led the runner up of the race,
Pistol, by 1 ¼ lengths.
Hector’s Chance settled third on the field of nine.
On 9th May he did not let go off the opportunity and captured the second outing of the season.
He won the Betdaq Casino Games Handicap over a mile and three furlongs. Paired with Richard Hughes, he took charge of the final two lengths and set Daring Damsel as the runner up.
The 4/1 favourite of the race, Arctic Galaxy, finished twelfth on the track of fourteen.
His third outing of the season is again at Kempton and he has all the chances of pairing up wins at the race course.
Another entry to have won at Kempton during the current season is Beauchamp Castle, Motivator’s three-year-old bay filly out of mare, Ashford Castle.
Out of the four times that she has been active in 2012, two were at Kempton and one of the attempts was a win.
The victory at Kempton came in the form of the seasonal debut. She won the £32 Free At 32Red.Com Handicap on 1st March over a mile
Beauchamp Castle led the track by one and a half length as Tectonic finished the closest to her.
The 5/4 favourite of the race, Purple Affair, ended ninth on the track of twelve.
It will be a third time today that Beauchamp Castle will race at Kempton during the new season and has the chances of posting a second win in case she does not get intimidated by Hector’s Chance.
