I was just wondering to get these jobs would you get your Bachelors in Finance and an MBA just like if you were wanting to be an Investment Banker? Also, is it easier to become an Investment Banker or be a manager to a Hedge Fund or Mutual Fund? Lastly, what are the differences in salaries of these jobs?

  1. Both types of people manage money. But the big bucks come in the Hedge fund world where top managers get paid billions. You cant become a top manager by climbing a corporate ladder sadly. You need to be a great trader, and thats something you cant learn in school. To start a hedge fund just start with your money and money from friends and family and generate outsized returns, have them audited and people will come to you. You dont need any degrees really. However, generating the returns necessary to garner attention is extremely hard to achieve.
