Hedges .Will they grow back?

I work cutting yards mainly realty companies and low end apartments. The apartments I did today I took a worker to help me with it.He has always done a great job except this time.I had him start the hedges and he butchered them til only a little green here and there was left they were box hedges. He was so pro7ud of himself but I am wondering if they will grow back with green leaves covering them again.He not all there.If not next spring I will be digging up roots and replacing them for free. He is not a bad worker just over does himself and takes great pride. If I go fertilze them with miracle grow or something do you think they have a chance of coming back to green leaves they are mostly brown liumbs now with specks of green.I live in hot Georgia.Not cooling off til October or november.

As long as you can scratch a little bark off the plant and you still see green the plant is alive.  Before replacing them next year I would try fertilizing them this year.  I would use Miracle Grow evergreen fertilizer spikes.  They go down in April and September.  Apply them this September and then again next April and see what happens.

i live in mo but they will grow back i have had a lot bushes and Hedges that got damaged in a hail storm and they always come back

Poor guy.  Don't know about Georgia, but in New England, they grow back.  Miracle grow might help.

Don't fertilize.  The shrubs are very stressed right now and fertilizing them will likely kill them.  Since they are boxwood, they will probably grow back just fine, but it's going to take months.  Make sure they get enough water in the heat.  Reassess them in the spring.  For now, the best thing to do is leave them alone and let them recover from the shock.

It depends on the shrub and how hard he pruned them back.  For the most part I would say, yes, they will come back.
