Hee Young Park set for LPGA Hana Bank Championship 2012
South Korean Hee Young Park, who won her maiden LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) title at CME Group Titleholders in November 2011, appears to be happy with her performance, although she has not been able to impress her fans in the current season.
Park is ready to face rivals at the upcoming LPGA Hana Bank Championship 2012, scheduled to be played from October 19-21, at Incheon, South Korea, and has vowed to do her best before the local spectators who are expected to flock to the course in large numbers this year too.
Park made a good start at the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia 2012, as she posted a 67 in the first round, but she could not finish inside the top 20 in the much-hyped tournament, as she posted an overall 281 to share the 26th position with two other contenders.
Despite not being able to end her victory drought in the current season so far, the South Korean star has improved her game quite a lot lately and she is now able to rattle big names at Incheon this week.
Speaking to the media at Incheon where big stars like current world number one Yani Tseng, Suzann Pettersen and Na Yeon Choi have already turned up, Park said that she is thrilled about her current form, but admitted that her first victory was recorded a bit late, given the fact that she turned professional in 2004.
She said that improvement takes time, but she is confident that the coming tournaments will see her perform even better because she has been able to fix some persistent flaws in her putting and swing.
"I'm kind of a little late to get my first win, but every year my score is getting better and better, so I'm pretty much confident about what I'm doing, especially for this year towards the second half of this year, my confidence is getting greater and greater and higher and higher," said Park.
"I hope I can give a really good use to my fans here in Korea, as well, and it would be even greater if I got my second win in this championship because Hana Bank is my sponsor".
