Hee Young Park performs well in second round at Prattville
South Korean Hee Young Park displayed a stellar performance in the second round of Navistar LPGA Classic 2012 as she shot a 69  to tie for the fourth position along with Dori Carter of the United States and
Lizette Salas.
Park started the second round of Navistar LPGA Classic 2012 at Prattville, Alabama with confidence as she shot four birdies and one bogey. The South Korean star made the most of good field and field.
She parred the first three holes and sank her first birdie on the par-4 fourth. On the fifth hole, park faltered as she could not handle the ball well on the greens and ended up carding her first bogey.
On the back nine, the LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) star picked up pace and scored well. She avoided scoring any bogey, but managed to shoot birdies on the par-4 12th and par-4 15th
hole.
American Lexi Thompson, who is regarded as the hot favourite for the Navistar LPGA Classic 2012 because she won the last edition of the tournament, displayed a superb performance as she shot a 69 in the second
round to maintain her lead.
Thompson was one of the few players in the roster who were given massive crowd support. The first round saw the American star shoot a 63, consolidating her position on the leaderboard.
Thompson said while talking to the LPGA Tour that she is happy with what she did on the first two days of the tournament, and she is in high spirits keeping in view her last year’s performance at the Navistar
LPGA Classic 2011.
Players like Park were also able to grab enough attention. “You know, just two behind but I'm not going to think about leader or, you know, behind; just keep it going, try to do my game.  Actually, this week
my goal was no bogey during the round, so I just remind my goal and then just play the rest of the few days,” the South Korean golfer said.
Park got off to a solid start as she carded a 65. She said that the weather conditions made the play a little different on Friday than it was on the first day.
“It was a little different condition compared to first round, getting drier on the greens, so that means a little bit of different speed, putting speed,” Park said.
