Heel stretches muscle building?

hi everyone. this might sound really unprofessional because i do not know the official name for it but you know when dancers stick their leg up in the air as if doing a heel stretch but hold it up with muscle strength and no hands. i've been trying soo hard to build up the strength to do this because i have the flexibility. does anyone have any tips? thank you. sorry if this makes absolutely no sense.

  1. you need to build up all the muscles in your leg above the knee.

    plies. squats. lifting your leg so its perpendicular to your body while standing up. always always always point your toe.
