The 53-year-old tactician knows that John van den Brom’s side is very well organised at the back and his side must perform at their best to bag all three points on Eredivisie match-day 31.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/SC-Heerenveen-c40463 head coach, Ron Jans, has made his side’s intentions clear that they want to win their upcoming league encounter against Vitesse Arnhem. The two sides will meet at Abe Lenstra Stadion on Saturday, April 21.
The Friesland outfit is currently occupying the sixth spot on the league table, seven points behind the Eredivisie leaders, Ajax Amsterdam. With only 12 points left to play for before the 2011/12 campaign comes to an end, the Friesland outfit’s chances of
landing the title are only a mathematical possibility.
However, they have a bright opportunity to finish second in the league standings and compete in UEFA Champions League qualifying round.
Jans knows that his side has the opportunity to play in the Europe’s most prestigious tournament next season and for that very reason, the Friesland outfit is aiming to bag all three points against the Arnhem outfit.
“I think the tension for the top spot is off now. But there is still a lot of competition for the second spot including ourselves. There is only one mission for us, and that is to win against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vitesse-c40905”, Jans was quoted as saying to Voetbal International.
Heerenveen have faced the Arnhem outfit away from home twice this season. They recorded a 1-1 draw in the league, and managed to emerge victorious 2-1 in the KNVB beker Cup tie.
Jans was all praise for the Arnhem outfit and admitted that they are a well organised defensive side.
“I think, we played better against them in the Cup encounter though both games were very similar. They are a very well organised defensive side. But they lack incisiveness upfront. So I believe, we would be able to bag all three points”, the Dutch mentor
concluded.
Vitesse are sitting seventh in the league standings, a mammoth nine points behind the sixth placed Heerenveen. However, they are seven points ahead of the eighth placed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/RKC-Waalwijk-c40370, which guarantees them participation in the Europa League play-offs after
the end of the season.
