The Friesland outfit’s boss has an expiring contract that runs until the summer of 2012. Although the club management tried to renew his deal, the 53-year-old denied extending his contract.

“This may become a reason to stay. Though it is too early to say anything about the future, I should still think about it. Van Basten is undoubtedly an interesting name to work with. His arrival has also made me excited. For many players, he is a hero. I
am also inspired by him”, Dost was quoted as saying to Voetbal International.
The 22-year-old then went on to admit that the former Dutch International was an excellent striker and insisted that it would be an honour to work with the legendary Dutchman.
“I have seen brilliant goals from him. What a good player he was, an extraordinary player. It would be an honour to play under the leadership of Van Basten”, Dost concluded.
Dost’s contract with Heerenveen runs until the summer of 2015.
