The 22-year-old striker is currently the leading goal scorer in Eredivisie, and the Premier League outfit is taking keen interest in acquiring his signature this summer.
Reports in English media indicate that Aston Villa are taking keen interest in signing Heerenveen striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Bas-Dost-c7339, in the upcoming summer transfer market.
The Dutch striker has admitted that he is flattered by the English Premier League outfit’s interest. However, he has made it clear that he will not be discussing any potential move with his agent before the end of the ongoing 2011/12 campaign.
“It is positive news. You hear this and of course it is nice to know they are interested. Aston Villa is a club I don’t know very well, but they look good. I have spoken with my agent and we won’t be discussing anything before the end of the season”, Dost
was quoted as saying to Voetbal International.
The young striker arrived at Abe Lenstra Stadion in the summer of 2010 after representing http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Heracles-Almelo-c39520 in 63 matches. In his debut season at the Friesland outfit, the 22-year-old managed to hit the back of the net 13 times in 32 matches.
However, the former Heracles striker has been in supreme goalscoring form since the start of the 2011/12 campaign. Netting an impressive 23 goals while setting up seven more in 27 games, the youngster has been making headlines consistently for all the good
reasons. He is currently the leading goal scorer in the Dutch top tier.
If rumours are to be believed, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863 are also looking to acquire the youngster’s signature this summer.
Dost has an ongoing contract at Abe Lenstra Stadion that runs until the end of the 2014/15 season. Although Heerenveen will not let go of their prized asset in the upcoming summer transfer market, an offer in the region of 15 million Euros could prove to
be an offer too tempting to turn down.
Pundits, however, suggest that the 22-year-old should ply his trade in the Dutch top flight for at least another season before moving abroad for pastures greener.
