I am retireing to Hei,Hei, next year. Can anyone tell me something about it . Is it a small town. and if there is much to do in it. Im from Ireland.

  1. No comma. It's Hei Hei, and it means chook. It's a suburb of Christchurch and not a separate entity. A very pleasant place, I believe.


  2. Hei Hei is a suburb of Christchurch.  Important things for retirement are distances to supermarkets, doctors etc and also public transport, if the time comes when you can't drive yourself.  They're good options for resale value as well.

    Obviously getting a property in a good school zone isn't important, but it can affect price for resale too as well as what you pay.
