Height and correct putter length?

is there a guide line for having the correct putter length and your height?

there is no right or wrong putter length. go with what youre comfortable with. short is usually the more preferred however. like if youre 5' 8" go with a thirty to a thirty-two inch putter.

Just depends on what feels right in your hands. A conventional putter is about 35'' long. There are also belly putters that you sort of 'lodge' in your stomach to feel connected to the club as to not whip it around if you are struggling. There are also long putters that you hold with one hand near your chest and the other just below your belt line.

If you stand more upright with a conventional putter, you'll need it a little longer. If you hunch over it like Jack Nickalus, maybe go a little shorter. I stand over the ball a bit...I am 5'10'' tall and let my arms hang down pretty straight. My putter is 35'' long and feels perfect. Go to the store and mess around with putter lengths and you'll find it.

Dude, putter are very personal.  You have to have a feel for it and it doesn't matter the size or weight.  It is just what you prefer.  Me personally, I like the Nike Unitized.  I can judge my speed better on the greens.  Go to a golf shop that has a grass putting green and try a bunch until  you find what you like.  Believe me, you will know the right one when you hit it.

There is no guide as to the weight and length of putters for particular player heights or weights. Putters come in various lengths, looks, weights and feels. The right one is found by trial and error. That one is the one which feels best when you make a stroke. Try your local sporting goods store which deals mainly in golfing stuff. Try out the clubs in the store and elsewhere  where they provide mats. You will know the putter you like best when you feel the stroke.

depends how tall you are if you are over 5'11 i would go with about a 33 or 34 but just whatever is comfortable for you
