Height and weight demands for military?

I am 6' 3'' and weight about 255 lbs. I'm wanting to join the navy or air force but I'm not sure how strict the height and weight requirements are? Will recruiters be that strict on who they let in?

The below source is the link to the medical standards. Check out Table 2-1 in Chapter Two. You should also study all of Chapter Two. There are over two hundred conditions which can disqualify you.

they are very strict on weight, height doesnt matter, my fiancee is in the army, he is 6'4" and he weighs about 235. they made him lose 17 pounds, what you do is go have them test you, you get measured and weighed, and then they will tell you what you need to do to make the cut, i didnt make it either, i need to lose 17 pounds too, im 5'9" and 185.  but its ok, just ask them, they will tell you what to do, go to a recruiting center, and ask, dont sign anything yet if you arent ready, it ends in problems.

I dont know the requirements exactly but  you can find them on the internet at 6'3'' 255 you will have to lose some weight for sure though.

they are pretty strict, however it's not only height and weight, like in your case they will measure neck and midsection to get a body fat deal, so if you can pass that part you will be fine

According to the charts you need to lose quite a bit of weight.

Need to lose 31 lbs. for Air Force

Need to lose 39 lbs. for Navy

Do lots of cardio exercise such as running, pushups, treadmill, bicycling etc. and eat healthy.

Well, you sound a little plump for your height, or muscular.But I was in the army 5 years ago and I'm telling ya, they are STRICT all army people look almost exactly the same right?? So give it a shot and see what happens.
