  1. If you want to palm the ball and have your hand on top of the ball to throw it down, it would be however tall a basketball is + 10 feet for the height of the rim. If you can get up high enough to get the ball over the rim, you could dunk without having your hand on top of the ball. Just takes some practice once you're up there.

  2. As long as you can get the ball over the rim you should be good.

  3. there really isnt a height specific height its more about your vertical leap.

  4. I'd say to safely dunk, you'll have to be able to reach 10'6" for one handed dunks and 10'9" for two handed dunks. That means around 6-9" above the rim.

Of course I think anyone who can touch 10'3" should be able to dunk, but jumping height changes depending on time of day, whether you just ate, fatigue, etc. So if your max is 10'3", you might not be able to dunk all the time. And you definitely wont be dunking in a game. The reason is obvious: you need to have room to get not only your hand above the rim but also the ball.

So I'd say be able to reach 10'8" and you'll be a solid dunker.
