Does anyone know the scientific reason for the length of your arms being the roughly the same as your height? (Or that your forearm is the same size as your foot?)

Thank you in advance

  1. no your forearm is not the same size as ur foot. mines sure isnt.

  2. cuz if we wern't our skeleton wouldn't be able to support it.  We evolved to this way because it ensured the most survivability.

  3. If the length of my arms were the same as my height--my hands would be pretty sore from  dragging on the ground (maybe you left out a proportion there?)  Even then, you notice that some people are long-legged, while others have average leg-length, but are long-torsoed, more of their height is in their torso.

As far as forearm being roughly the size as the foot--could that be a sign of intelligent design?

  4. I think you are referring to Da Vinci's "vitruvian man", and yes this is a standard for genetic testing.  If your armspan is smaller or larger than your height then a genetic defect lies somewhere in your development.
