Heikki Kovalainen: I am happy with Lotus and have no issues here – Formula 1 news
Lotus driver Heikki Kovalainen has admitted that he is happy with his current team, as he said that his team is working very well for him in the 2011 Formula 1 season.
Kovalainen also mentioned that he is not yet thinking about his future with the team and that he just wants to focus on his current job with them at the moment.
The team driver told the media that he has no issues here, as they are all very supportive for him. The Finn driver added that he does not want to think about his future in the sport at the moment, because he just wants to develop this team for its better
future in Formula 1.
Apart from that, Kovalainen stated that he is sure Team Lotus’ decision to switch to Renault engine for the 2011 F1 season will be a big boost for the future of the Hingham-based outfit in the sport.
He commented, “I think In terms of power the Cosworth engine is quite powerful. Last year it was not just a question of power. The experience that Renault has is completely different. I think it was necessary for us to take that step.”
Kovalainen went on to mention, “The service that we get from them is excellent. The quality of the engine... the degradation of the engine is very, very low. Just generally the package the we get from them I think is the kind of package that we needed for
this year.”
The 29-year-old driver is satisfied with the T128 car. However, he said that he believes the new developments in the car will provide them more satisfactory results in the remainder of the ongoing season.
Team Lotus drivers, Kovalainen and Jarno Trulli are still unable to score points in the 2011 Formula 1 season. The team driver, Trulli mentioned that he has a power steering issue from the start of the season and due to that, he could not enjoy any race
so far.
The team fixed all issues for the rest of the season. Let’s see how both of the drivers manage their last eight races of the 2011 F1 season.
