Heinze eyeing Derby della Capitale win and happy with life at Rome: Serie A news
A.S Roma defender, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gabriel-Heinze-c14310, is eagerly anticipating the Rome Derby against local rivals, Lazio next week.
The two teams will lock horns on Sunday, October 16th, 2011 in one of the best matches in the Serie A calendar. Both teams have had a decent stat to their seasons and have witnessed same results thus far. Roma are placed
6th in the table while Lazio are only one place behind them.
Heinze, who joined the Giallorossi in the summer transfer window of 2011, wants all three points in the game. The former Manchester United man knows the intensity of the game but he will come out for a win only.
Heinze said, "I'm just interested in the points, I want to win. We know that the derby is played in a particular context, but for us the three points is the main [thing]. Winning is the goal."
The Argentine was linked to the Biancazzurri during the summer but he opted to sign for Luis Enrique’s side instead. However, the stopper admitted that Lazio link was only media speculation and there was no concrete interest from
Edy Reja’s side. The 33-year-old admitted that when he heard of interest from Roma, he was flattered by it and never wanted to join any other team other than Luis Enrique’s side.
"I did not refuse to go to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603.”
The former Olympique Marseille star admitted that he has played for few of the top of the clubs in the world and a chance to play in Italy really pleases him. The defender is enjoying his life at Rome and wants to continue playing
here for long.
"I'm fine, in a beautiful city. I'm fortunate to have played in many major championships. The last dream I had was to come here and play in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926. I am very happy to be in Rome.”
The Argentine international has made 3 appearances thus far this season.
