Everton’s defender, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/John-Heitinga-c18862 has been voted as the player of the season by the club’s fans, in view of his remarkable performance in the Toffees rearguard throughout the season.
The Dutchman was awarded the laurel in a ceremony held at St George’s Hall, to celebrate the end of the season. Besides, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Phil-Neville-c29904 ran away with the Best
Goal accolade.
After receiving the award, Heitinga expressed his pleasure on getting the acknowledgement from the fans and mentioned that he loves playing for Everton.
In total, he has made 38 appearances for the Toffees this season in all competitions, and also scored a goal during this period. Since the start of the year, he has helped Everton keep a clean sheet on 10 occasions.
He told the reporters, “I am really happy to win it, it is a big award and I want to thank everyone – especially my teammates.”
The Dutchman has remained an integral part of the Everton squad since his arrival at Goodison Park in 2009 and has played a major hand in his side’s outstanding run since the start of the year. The former Atletico Madrid player stepped up to the challenge

Meanwhile, Neville’s goal against West Bromwich Albion in the third round of the Carling Cup, managed to beat http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Leighton-Baines-c21987 goal by a single vote to the Best Goal award.
The Englishman said upon receiving the prize, “I was canvassing around the rest of the audience for votes. My boy is always on at me because I don’t score enough goals so I am really pleased to win it for him. I remember Royston went on a dribble and he
doesn’t often pass it but he did this time and I connected with it perfectly.”
On the other hand, Vellios was delighted on claiming the Best Young Player award and said: “When I look at the other players who have won this it makes me really happy and hopefully I can keep doing well.”
