The former Real Madrid and AC Milan striker could leave the Bundesliga outfit for a new club, after discussions over a contract extension were not fruitful.  
Schalke general manager Horst Heldt has confessed that the time of the forward Klaas Jan-Huntelaar at the Veltins Arena is not yet known, as talks of a new contract continue to fail. The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Netherlands-c753 international decided to set
aside the new deal offered by the club until the end of the European Championships 2012.
The 28-year-old is yet to sign the contract extension as agreed upon before the Euro, and the new Bundesliga campaign is set to start. Therefore, the situation has unsettled the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Royal-95-c40387 Blues as they are not sure about the future
of their prolific attacker.
Heldt previously suggested that he will not rush the Dutchman to sign a new deal, but now he stated that he wishes that Huntelaar extends his contract before the start of the season. The manager claimed that he expected a bright
future for Die Knappen side as they finished third in the Bundesliga last season.
The former Germany international said that the forward is aware of the offerings at the club and has proved his worth during his short career in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904. The 42-year-old claimed that the Bundesliga top goal scorer’s ambition will
determine his next destination and they spoke last week and will talk again to resolve the issue.  
"Klaas-Jan knows what he has here at Schalke and we know about his quality. His decision depends on his sporting future. We had a talk last weekend and we will have another talk in the next few days and make a decision,” he was
quoted as saying in an interview.
The Schalke official insisted that they can become a top club and even though, Huntelaar is a world class player, the club can offer him versatility.
"We can prepare well for the future and we know what we want to achieve in the future. Klaas-Jan is a footballer on a high level, but we also have different options," he added.
The frontman joined Schalke two years ago from the Serie A club, Milan and netted 29 Bundesliga goals last term.
