Was she victim of her own desire? wanton hussy? The reason they launched a thousand ships? Or just an excuse to invade Troy? What's your opinion?

  1. overrated, definately

  2. The reason they launched a thousand ships

  3. I reckon she was just an excuse to invade Troy.

Agamemnon was obsessed with controlling the Aegean and Troy was stubbornly standing in his way.  It was the perfect excuse for him to side with Menelaus and call his armies to war against Troy - I mean, the guy even sacrificed his own daughter Iphigenia to the god Poseidon to ensure a good crossing for his ships!?!?!?!

  4. I wonder where I could find a detailed analysis of Helen's hubby-leaving ways....

    Gorgias.
