Helios Partners to work with Rome 2020 Olympics bid
It has recently been revealed that Helios Partners, a U.S. based marketing company, has been selected by the Rome 2020 Olympic bid team as their main consultants for creation of a bid. Rome is going to be bidding for the Olympic Games for the second time
in its history as it lost to Athens in 1997 while making the bid for the 2004 Games.
Terrence Burns, who is the president of Helios Partners, expressed himself in the following way while giving a statement to sportsfeatures.com: “For Helios, Rome is an enigmatic choice for 2020 for a lot of reasons. The 1960 Games in Rome were unique in
so many ways – the world was changing, the Olympic Movement was changing.  And I think that 60 years later, Rome can help usher in another, new golden age for the Games. So, we wanted to be a part of helping Rome, because of its uniqueness and its history,
articulate a new vision for future Olympic Host Cities."
Rome seems to be determined to seize the bid this time around because it is working hard to get the best people on board. Robert Fasulo has joined the Rome 2020 bid and is working in the international relations aspect of the bid. Fasulo has sound credentials
on his resume as he has worked with USOC and took care of the international relations for the Chicago 2016 bid.
Apart from Rome, the cities that are in line for the bid for the 2020 summer Olympic Games are Baku, Doha, Istanbul, Madrid, Azerbaijan as well as Tokyo.
There is ample time for the prospective bidders to prepare for the bid as it will not start until the September of 2013.
The upcoming Olympics are taking place in London next year. After having successfully hosted the Games, London will become the first ever city in the world to have the honour of having done so thrice. The first time that London played host to the Olympic
Games was way back in 1908, while the second time the Olympics were held in London was in 1948.
