  1. helium is an inert gas> So no drug effect and noxious effect.

It can be noxious if you inhale it pure without oxygen ,  but giving the price of helium, you do not risk it

  2. Absolutely not, it's perfectly harmless and is naturally present in the air in minute concentration.

The reason it makes your voice sound different is due to the difference between the speed at which the sound travels in helium than that in air.

  3. Not at all. Helium is an inert gas. not illegal.no drug.none sort of effect.

  4. helium is not an illegal drug

and inhaling large amounts doesnt effect you negatively

and the awesumest thing your voice sounds awesum

  5. Helium is also used in scuba tanks nowdays, instead of nitrogen like in the normal composition of air.

U all know that the tank can not contain pure oxygen tank.

They use helium because it is inert and they dont use nitrogen because ---

When u go down the pressure changes, and more nitrogen dissolves in the blood. While coming upwards, there is avery quick change in pressure, which causes the nitrogen to boil in the blood vessels which results in blockage of blood vessels (and i think it even leads to internal bleeding -- not sure).

So instead helium is used instead of nitrogen

  6. Breathing pure helium even though it is an inert gas does not mean that it isn't harmful. I don't know if it is classed as a drug here in Australia maybe Lithium is the drug you are thinking of.

  7. It is not illegal, just dangerous.  The helium itself is not harmful in the body but there have been a number of deaths due to suffocation from inhaling large quantities of helium.  Inhalation of helium has recently become a popular method of committing suicide.

When helium fills the lungs, oxygen is actually removed from the bloodstream resulting in oxygen deprivation. Depending on how completely oxygen is replaced by helium, you may lose consciousness quickly and without warning.  The usual result is an uncontroled fall that can cause injury even if normal breathing resumes before brain damage occurs due to lack of oxygen.  Lots of fun, right?
