I'm getting mixed reactions to how the weather will be..

Some web sites are saying rain season and yet some are saying best time to go...

Cuba junkie said best time is may also.

Has anyone got any ideas?

Also do i need any malaria tablets?

Thank you!!

  1. To be honest i just cant understand why you are going to Cuba. You should have come to SOUTHAMPTON.  You and Kate would have been made most welcome here and I'm sure we would have found lots to do. If you insist on Cuba though all i can do is to wish you both a very happy holiday and you know what to take with you cos.i told you before.lol.x

  2. May is beautiful (as is every month there)...you are heading into summer and getting hotter as well as there may be a bit more rain (although it won't be as much as you think...won't interfere with travel plans at all)...if there is rain, it lasts for only a few minutes and cools things off. A lot of times it rains during the night and in the morning it's just gorgeous.

And it's just prior to hurriance season (which is still a great time to travel...it's safe at that time for travel and extra precautions are always taken for visitors and citizens).

I'm not sure which country you're travelling from but for Canadians (and other countries) there are no health restrictions, and require no vaccinations (unless you're coming from a country known for cholera and yellow fever. The Cuban government at that point will require proof of your immunization before entering).

You don't need malaria tablets. You can take them if you're uncomfortable or prone to sensitivities and for your own peace of mind, but not necessary at all.

It's advisable to bring a small first-aid kit with basic analgesic, antihistamine, and anti-diarrhea medications IN CASE you'll need it from change of environment and if you're sensitive. Better to bring your items so it's easily on-hand.

Definitely you will love Cuba. Have a wonderful time.
