Hellboy 2: The "Evil" Character in it - is he based on any folk-lore or mythology?

  1. Probably fictional . . .check out a berserker - a viking warrior - it's as close as I know. . .


  2. he's probably closer than most modern fantasty representations to what elves were (personality, etc.) seen as during the medieval periods before they got prettied up and dragged into ballads but I'm pretty sure the appearance, etc. were created to suit the movie.

  3. Looks like an Unseelie Sidhe to me .... the Sidhe were the Fair Folk, the Twyleth Teg, the Elves. Different Courts existed among them, schools of thought or attitude, with the Seelie being the good elves of light, and the Unseelie being of the dark, or evil.
