Question:

Helleborus/lenten rose help with browing leaves?

I bought a helleborus that had 2 major stems and some new growth. I planted it in my garden with a mix of salmon compost and bone meal. The area recieves about 2-3 hours of sunshine a day.

About 2 weeks after planting the new growth died, and now the leaves on the 2 main stems are browning on the edges. The plant has been in the ground for about 2 months.

Any advice?

THanks in advance

  1. You may need to increase the amount of sunlight they are getting. They do better in 4+ hours of sun per day. Also make sure you water frequently in the first year. Its not too late too transplant them to a sunnier spot you have about 1 week to transplant (as fall is around the corner.)
