  1. im pregnant and im in a adoption process, since i get pregnant the baby´s father doesnt take care of the baby and denied the baby. I went trough all this for my own thinking that its the best for the baby and even whit a lot of angry i decide to let him know about the adoption. He still doesnt care about the baby and its ok for me but i cannot forget that hes the father, my lawyer said that he has rights. although you dont know about adoption and that was a long time ago you have the rigth, go whit a laywer and figth for your baby....ITS YOURS..... CONGRATULATIONS FOR BE A REAL MAN.... i hope you can have your baby soon.... take care

  2. You're going to need to seek advice of a good lawyer. There are lawyers who deal specifically is child custody laws. Try to ask around for suggestions. If you have the full support of your family, there won't be a problem paying for a lawyer. Get the test done, know the results, and be prepard to fight a long, drawn out battle.

  3. HURRY and come forward to the agency. They can not deny you the rights of your child. A paternity test has to be done. Call the county court system. Speak to the representative that handles the kids cases. Here it is called CASA, not sure if it is the same there. If you come forward now, you can get her. I don't believe it will cost thousands of dollars. It doesn't cost that for birth parents. You have a chance, go get your baby!

  4. OMG not another father that's been duped out of his rights!  Act quickly, the adoption is not yet finalized and this is your baby!

Is there a putative father registry in Texas? if so get your name on  it pronto

I can't believe this keeps happening to dads.  Be aware also that alot of potential adoptive parents are not willing to 'do the right thing' in these situations and many of them take the baby and run

I wish I could be of more help and I hope you manage to keep your child in your family

  5. I live in Texas and just adopted in the state. If it's already been 6 weeks, the birth fathers rights might have already been terminated by default of not coming forward sooner. Most adoption agencies petition for the birth fathers rights to be terminated 30 days after the baby is born.

However, if they did not think you were the father, they probably terminated the rights of a different man.

You should have informed the adoption agency/adoption lawyer when you found out she was pregnant that you could potentially be the father. You also should have signed up for the paternity registry if you thought you might have fathered a child. At the least, you should have petitioned the court immediately for a paternity test after the baby was born.

You can petition the court now for a paternity test, if you are the father then you have rights to the baby. If legally your rights have already been terminated, then you need to get a lawyer and be prepared for a fight from the adoptive parents. It will cost you around $5000-$10000 to fight for your child. I'm not trying to discourage you, I'm just giving you the honest truth of the situation.

Adoption laws are vey strict in the state of Texas about birth father's rights. You have rights to your child before an adoptive couple and your rights MUST be terminated before the baby can be adopted. That's the upside.

The downside is that Texas adoption agencies no how strict the laws are and have several avenues to locate birth fathers so these things don't happen. If the adoption agency crossed all their T's and dotted their I's, then your going to have a fight ahead of you.

EDIT:Queen Entrepreneaur has no idea what she is talking about. All this will have to be done in a court of law and you will need a lawyer. Obviously, lawyers cost money. A paternity test alone cost $500-$1000 dollars. Everything I said in my post is the way it will go down. Trust me, we just faced some of these issues with my son's birth father. We terminated the rights of the wrong birth father and had to reterminate the rights of a different man. We discussed all the legal possibilities of this man wanting my son and what it would be like for him to try to get him back in a court of law. In the end, he did not want our son so we never had to face any of these problems, but we did discuss them thoroughly. Everything is different from state to state. I live in Texas so I would have the best idea of how the legal system works here. Once again, the best thing you can do is get a lawyer immediately.

  6. Absolutely you can get your baby, but you need to do it NOW, today! Get a lawyer TODAY!  Adoption agencies will give you the run around until you run out of time, but lawyers are on to that.

  7. You need to get a lawyer asap and get a dna test done.  If u are the father u have rights. Good luck!

  8. You will also need your parent's help as well.  Hurry up and contact an attorney.

  9. GET A PATERNITY TEST AND GET YOUR BABY!!!! DO NOT WAIT ANOTHER DAY.
