Helllpppp?!?

Question

I got the job as a mother's helper. FINALLY! It's on Tuesdays and Thursdays, while she picks up her son, so I have to watch the other son, who is usually sleeping. Which will take 30- 45 minutes, but I'm not sure wether she'd want me to stay and keep both her son's busy while she does work or not. And I might help her out other times too, if she needs it. She wants to know what I charge. I asked her what she was willing to pay, and she say for me to come up with the number. Ahh! What do I charge? I was going to pick up the toys in the living room, and stuff, and do the dishes if there are any. Do some light cleaning in the first floors and maybe the kids bedrooms if there are any toys on the ground. I don't know. What should I charge?

i would charge atless 6.55 which is min.wage here in the U.S. so thats what i would charge..

well how old are you? if you're under the age of 16 i'd say 6-7 an hour is good.

communicate with her. find out what EXACTLY she wants you to do first.

Minimum wage (if you're 16-18) is $8.00 an hour. It sounds like your job is pretty light, though, so I would go for $6.00 or $5.00.  It sounds like she has a lot on her mind right now so don't bug her too much with easy questions. When she picks you up ask her what needs to be done and stuff like that. if you clean up make saure the area is spotless, this will make her happy, and just give her a light load. Just be yourself and have fun with the kids!

Mother's helper doesn't usually pay as much as babysitting. But since you are going to be doing cleaning too I would charge a little extra...maybe $6 or $7.

If I were you I would just charge minium wage, in England thats around £5 an hour.. though if that seems a little steep then well, how much would you pay her to look after your children and wash dishes if it was the other way round?
