After hooking up a new monitor to my computor, I could only see part of my desk top icons (the others were off to the sides and top/bottom. I went into control panel and display to change the resolution. I did not have any luck so I looked for other settings that might need to be changed. The only thing I could see that might help was an option that said "Retest". Thinking that maybe it needed to detect a different monitor and adjust its settings accordingly. This caused the monitor to only display the background photo & NO desk top icons or start menu. Control Alt Delte does not bring up the task manager either, nor does right clicking on the desktop do anything.
