Q1) How can I obtain PR status before even applying for residencies in hospitals?

Q2)Does my Canadian car license work or do I have to take another road test to get a US one?

  1. 1)  You cannot apply for PR in the US when on a student visa.  You need to get a job offer first, then have the employer apply for a work visa for you.

    2)  Depends on the state, but normally you can just exchange your Canadian license for a US one.  States such as NY do not normally regard a student as a resident so you do not have to get a NY license, but you should check with the state you go to school in.  If you do get a job in the US, you will need to change your license over.
