I open PartitionMagic 8.0, I ask it to resize my 233 Gb primary partition ( to make room for another one ). When I ask it to apply changes, it says that I should reboot, but after booting on XP and having the PartitionMagic blu screen, it says after a moment : "Error 983 While executing Batch. Error 983. Too many errors found".

What sould I do ? Is there another software as good as PartitionMagic (Free) ? Help !

  1. It sounds like there are file system errors that need to be fixed.

    I think this should work:

    1) Open a command prompt

-Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> Command prompt

    2) Type in the following without the ":

"chkdsk c: /f" and hit Enter

          - reply Y when asked if you want to run on next reboot

          - then type (without the ") "exit" & hit Enter

    3) reboot

This should fix the errors and allow Partition Magic to run. After the reboot, make your changes in PM and reboot again.
