this is a four winns 180 horizon boat whith an OMC 5.0 L 8 Cilinders boat. I live close to laredo tx. thanks

  1. I do not know where to go, But I do know how much it might be, so it can be 600 to 2000 dollars, sorry if that disappoints you.

You have an I/O, but I'm guessing that it is a Cobra stern drive..  The stern drive is divided into the upper and lower units.  Most of these fail because of a gear problem in the upper housing.  Hopefully it's just the gears and bearings, not the housing.  Labor is 4.0 hours at the shop labor rate, but the parts kit is expensive.  Total repair could be $3K to 5K for just this upper unit.  

        Any OMC Cobra marine certified mechanic can handle this with little problem.   Check with your local dealers.  I'm sure your get better service than some On-line exchange program, unless its factory direct, then your looking at more $$$$.
