I'd like to meet new people, in London or New York! If it were possible by an English speaking family to learn this language better, who's prepared? I am Italian, well-educated and friendly... Furthermore I'd like to work abroad, I like singing, where could I do any tests? I'm joking! But I guess that after Xfactor it could exist something else, couldn't it? How much is an employee paid in London? Which types of aptitudes are requested? How much is a rent or/and a mortgage of a house/flat? How does the Queen behave? Just to answer a few of your questions.

Your English is very good but you do not state your age or what kind of qualifications/ experience you have and in what field.

It is difficult to find jobs in London unless you have contacts there. There are many students who have to pay for their studies who do things like serving in cafés or bars or work shifts as receptionists in hotels. A lot of the more menial jobs are taken by Polish and other immigrants  from the EEC or elsewhere and they only are paid the basic wage.

You could be an Au Pair but the pay is not very good and it is the luck of the draw as to what kind of family will receive you and what work they will expect of you.

Aptitudes: Hard working, honest, reliable, pleasant and polite, friendly, basic skills, and if you want a better paid job, some qualifications and experience.

Rent in London is astronomically expensive. The cheapest student room is 80 pounds upwards a week. Mortgages are unobtainable at the moment even if you are British, have a regular job and even can put down a large deposit. This is due to the credit crunch  which started in the USA and now  has spread to the UK. Houses in London are extremely expensive even in less fashionable areas and on average three or four times the price of Italian houses.

Not many of us have got close to the queen personally. She is known to work  hard and have simple tastes because she was raised before and during the war. She always behaves with great decorum, politeness and tact. Those who have got close to her say that she has a sense of humour  and that she is more personable than her rather rigid appearance indicates. She is impeccably dressed and favours just a pearl necklace as jewelry except on state occasions. She is the patron of many charities and welfare organisations and spends a great deal of time on affairs of state.
