Can someone sugest things to do at or near the airport in those 7 hours, and is it possible to go to London and make it back on time? I have never been to London before, any information is appreciated.

  1. you wont be allowed  through immigrations or passport control let alone go to london so take plenty of magazines and puzzle books

  2. if u dont take ur time and u leave the aiport straight away and u head bak to the aiport about 2.5 -3 hours before ur flight starts u might get about 2-3 hours which at least ur not board sitin in an aiport and not seen the city

  3. OMG  so am i ahahah ive done this before heathrow is huge and has many things to do they have tons of shops good food and you relly sock in london but u can go outside of the airport it isnt boring at alll its tons of fun

  4. First thing to check is if you are legally able to enter the UK.  If you have a US passport, that's no problem (unless you have a wicked past!)  Just go through immigration and leave the air-side.

    Then a couple of options:

London-centre:  take the Heathrow Express (it's a train). It takes 15-25 minutes depedning on terminal, and costs GBP 29 return.  Then maybe take a bus tour for a couple of hours - you'll see most of the main sights briefly.

Windsor:  you can take a taxi to Windsor, GBP 30 each way for a black cab (the official London ones), or GBP 20 for a local firm...numbers on this page

In Windsor there is the castle and pleasant places to walk.

Remember to get back in good time for your flight....and if you are leaving from terminal 5, I recommend taking a meal in Plane Food.

    Enjoy
