  1. here is a little info to help you out.

  2. I sell my Congo African Greys for $1,000. Then the purchaser has to foot the bill for shipping and box charge. That price is more than I paid for breeder Greys. What is the deal for the fire sale?

  3. No not at all. I got my Grey for $1000 when he was 4 months old(now currently 6mos.) from a reputable breeder. Also the cage I got it for $400, and a good size. I would say your getting ripped off. I would prefer you do some more research. A good website I prefer you research on is gotparrots.com, they tell you alot of information.

  4. No, that is way too much. Have you ever owned birds before? If you haven't, I would strongly advise against getting an African Grey, they are not for first time bird owners. They have very demanding personalities and can easily become feather pluckers. They are very smart and need to be mentally stimulated to prevent them from developing behavior problems. Not all African Greys speak. They are expensive to keep if cared for properly. Not all vets will treat birds, it is best to have your birds seen by an Avian Vet. They will destroy toys, thus requiring you to replace them. They are great birds, but are not for the inexperienced.

  5. Whether that's a good price depends on where you are.  In the U.S., you shouldn't be spending over about $1400 for the bird and $600 for the cage (and you can find both for less).
