i am in mauritius and i want to kwn wat i shd require to go to india bkoz PIO cards are issued only after 1 yr of mariage. so for now i shd go on 6 month or 1 yr visa?? wat documents shd i produce to indian embassy? do i need to change my passport into my husband name? plz reply me friends.....

This question of change of Name & Addresses are very often a problem at the Indian Mission officiers in accordance to the Law system and its implementations?  It is also a gag to extohrt Money from such persons having no knowledge in the field of Mission office working systems?  If you are born in India, than produce a document from the place where you are born, if in villege the Panchayats document and or the High Ranking Gazetted Officer can also help provided,  knowing you cloesly? At the same time get the marriage certificate endorsed from the Ministry of Foreign Dept. MEA. this could serve legally in accordence to the Preamble of the constitution of India? Lastly demand the Mission office in writing under which rules and conditions they stop and put herdels on Indian Citizens abroad?  As Mission office is sent to Help Indians abroad and not for making their life difficult by Burocracy?
