  1. Ya, pretty much

But just keep in mind that end of the day, you are living in an Islamic country, which means you got to mind many religious restrictions around the public!

It is one of the best places around the ME.

  2. Yes, there are tons of expats (90% of the population) and it is very easy to meet other people with the same interests.  There are also plenty of people around your age.

Look to live near the beach by the Marina area.  There are tons of expats living there and people tend to hang out and party on the beach.  Also lots of fun bars and clubs in the area (all inside hotels of course).  Bottom line is that there are lots of people like you living there and it can be a very fun and nice place to live.

You will love Dubai.   As someone else said, you definitely need to keep in mind the Islamic law and respect the customs.  For example, during Ramadan there is not a whole lot to do, so you may want to consider traveling during that month.   Overall, this is not a huge issue however.

  3. Dubai is a very nice place to stay. Making friends (for the right reasons) at your work place or outside is easy and depends on how much you want to socialise. Quite a few shopping centres and recreation facilities to go to.
