I am planning to become a Bachelor Nurse in Adelphi University, which is 4 years degree. After Bachelor Nurse I am thinking on applying to a medical school to become a doctor. I have found that in order to get to a medical school i need to take the premed first. I also have found that in Bachelor in Nursing I will take Chemistry 1 and 2 with a lab which is a year and Anatomy and Physiology 1 and 2 with a lab which are Biology 10 and 11. And it means that for the premed I will already will have one year of Chemistry and one year of Biology. Am I right? What do you think? After Bachelor of Nursing I want to go to a community college or to another college for one more year in order to finish all of the premed, which are one year on another Chemistry, one year of Physics, Calculus, and etc., and then to apply to a medical school. What do you think? Will it work? I am 18 years old male and going to a community college right now and live in Brooklyn, NY. Will medical schools accept one year of Chemistry with a lab and Anatomy and Physiology with a lab which is Biology 10 and 11 from Bachelor in Nursing? Thank You.

  1. If you are in a community college, then get an associate degree RN, then begin to build your last two years for a BS incorporating premed courses.

You can work while you finish you BS. Look at the long term, you are 18, if you overload yourself or take the long road, you will fall into the category of reluctant student and will fall away sometime during your education. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush, once you have your associate degree nursing, should something happen, like you move or get married, or adopt five kids, you have an income. you can go back and finish your degree and head in the direction you need to go.
