have alittle wonder to you guys and ask what you think of Brits that emigrate to your country?

the accents are cute and the people are generally much nicer, more helpful and generally better looking (than australians)

i'm gonna get lots of thumbs down for that comment but its true (in my experience)

Me personally, I love the poms.  Especially when there is sport on TV the friendly rivalry I have with some of my work mates is great.  I work in the Oil,gas industry in Australia, a lot of English/welsh people etc work along side.  Of course there is always a little bit of taking the pi**

Most Australians would think that Brits (poms) are whiners. They whine about the weather and other stuff.

there are heaps of British people who live here in Australia - don't really even notice them.  There's lots of other different nationalities too.  In my office, we have 8 staff members who were born in England out of 50 staff.  You may get teased a bit, particularly when the cricket's on, but hey, we are just having a laff.

I'm british and when I went to Australia and told people I was doing a degree in Civil Engineering they all said come and live here when you're finished etc.

If you come to the country and are bringing skills with you and don't scrounge off the Government (similar to here in UK) then it should be no problem. They're not xenophobic

Well originally quite a few of us were brits, so without them, half of us wouldn't exist! There are some people who would say "we grew here, you flew here", But that isn't just about the brits. I have some really good british friends, it doesn't effect anyone, the accent can be really nice and soothing. You will be light heartedly made fun of at first because of sporting events and your accent, but thats just like Aussies in the UK.

I have no worries with "Brits" immigrating to Australia. Have some good mate that have come over here and I employ an English lady. More the merrier I say. But you don't need a criminal file anymore so bahave. lol
