  1. You need a crosover cable with DLINK DES-1008V Switch. You need to connect all the 4 computers with this switch. Give unique IP address & Subnet addresses to all the computers. Connect the printer with any computer, share that printer. Ur done !!!

  2. It's Simple.  The best way is to buy a router (Netgear or Lynksys ONLY, will cost about 30 bucks).  Connect the internet, from the cable or DSL modem, to the uplink on the router.  Then use a PATCH CABLE NOT A CROSS OVER, and connect the 4 computers to the router ports.  The router will give u detailed instructions how to do it, but its very very simple.

For the printer, the easiest way is run the network setup wizard, from the control panel, on each of the 4 computers, giving each computer the SAME network name.  Then connect to printer to one of the computers and share it with the other computers.  on the 3 other computers just go to add printer then say add network printer look for the computer that printer is connected to and then add it.

It may sound difficult but its very simple.  From start to finish should take about 20 minutes.

PS if you use DSL (NOT CABLE JUST DSL), most DSL modems are also  routers, if thats what u have use the DSL modem router, no need to buy a new router.  If its not a modem router combination, call your DSL company and tell them you want to connect the modem to a router because with DSL you have to change the settings inorder to use it with a router.
