Many years ago I tried a brand with a honey comb outline on the bottles, and I was really happy with the results, but I don't remember the name. If anyone has had positive results with a particular brand please let me know. Thanks so much any help is greatly appreciated.

  1. Herb-Pharm gets high marks from me

  2. I think all these are good quality: Gaia, Nature's Answer, Now Foods, Turtle Island, Herbs, Etc., Herb Pharm & Frontier. Gaia has some double-strength extracts, where they've actually extracted into an extract, but they're pricey. Frontier has calibrated droppers to make it easier to dose.

A reputable manufacturer will always use amber glass bottles and glass droppers (not plastic). They will have an expiration date & batch number printed on the bottle or the label.

  3. yes but first let me say some of the most important info as far as herb usage is contained in this answer..stuff many people do not know.

the best on the market bar none are those by Dr Richard schulze from American botanical pharmacy found at herbdoc.com

he also explains why his are so good

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

Generally a person might start out with a $3 investment and then sells to the next guy who doubles it to make his profit and the next guy does the same..by the time it gets to you, it is $18 or something,

schulze cuts out the middlemen and sells only directly to the consumer.  Hence he can then and does buy the best all organic herbs there are.  He is the only one some of his suppliers told him that does not spray with a certain chemical...even the good other companies do not say do not use that on them..so he uses only organic or wildcrafted, expensive high quality herbs and then he packs them full using a lot more herbs than the average one that is watered down with the menstrum.

I am talking tinctures here as this is the most effective way to take an herb..so schulze's formulas are very potent and he had clinical experience working with people including hopeless, dying ones that he healed with his comprehensive, incurables program and his high quality formulas.

Many manufacturers use cheap conventional herbs as they can get people in third world countries to pic them for pennies a day and make more profit.  The often use things like DDT there and even if grown organically, when entering the country the herbs are often sprayed.

Sam biser once did a study on the quality of about 30 herbal tincture...looking for the herbs smell, taste and signature (for instance, echinacea is supposed to make one's tongue tingle, peppermint is minty, licorice is sweet, and lobelia makes the back of our throat scratchy

Many of the ones tested he could find no taste, smell or signature of the herbs ti was supposed to contain..signifying a poor formula..

this is often cause of use of these cheap herbs..also the formulas are very watered down with the mestrum while schulze at herbdoc packs him formulas with way more herbs and thus they work.

    the study found

first best and having smell, taste, and signature of the herbs in there were

    1. herbdoc.com (ABP by Richard schulze)

    2. homemade tinctures using organic hers that one makes themselves and uses a 50-50 menstruum (alcohol--usually vodka) to herb ratio

herbpharm (a great brand I use that one can buy at health food stores) but no herbdoc which nothing comes close to IMO

also do not use powdered herbs in capsule form which is how most people use them..they are not easily absorbed and also are sometimes burnt when being powered by machines.

use 1. tinctures and extracts (liquid form with eyedropper tops usually)

why?  the alcohol pulls more nutrients and pytochemicals that cure and prevent disease into the liquid)..the alcohol partially bi passes digestion causing instant absorptions..especially good if someone has digestive/absorption problems.  very convenient take directly by dropperfuls or drops plain or with a spoon of water or juice.

2 teas *(infusions for soft part of plant--leaves, flowers, soft berries,)..this is like your average tea whee you steep by pouring boiling water over the herbs and covering and letting sit a while and 2 decoctions   (this is for hard parts of the plants like roots, bark, hard dried berries) and involves boiling the herbs in water for 15 minutes..why? this extracts the nutrients and pytochemicals into the water.  Use distilled water fro teas as it is empty and pulls out more of the chemicals. Less convenient than tinctures but better than capsules as absorbed better and extracts the chemicals but not as many as the tinctures

3 capsules last and not recommended..why? they are not easily absorbed and thus one does not also or often get the chemical properties in the herb, rendering it useless but organic capsules would be better than non organic capsules

hope that helped (I remember that honeycomb brand)..many companies put more care into the label than what is in the bottle herbdoc.com does not..it is the best
