the dslrs run compact flash or sony duo or duo pros, dont know about the point n shoots - think they only run sony memory stick

Memory Stick, Memory Stick Duo or Memory Stick Micro with an adapter are the choices.Why do you complain about it?You have different types of cards right.Just get a Memory stick too,now they are not that expensive.In japan i get my 2 gb for 9 $...Good luck.

Sony digicams only use memory STICKS.  We have an older Sony digicam and it uses a stick, 'pro' I believe.  I also see memory stick 'pro duo'.

I've only seen Sony and SanDisk brand memory sticks.  So any brand will do, but it has to be a memory stick and labeled 'pro' or 'pro duo'.  Check your manual or look on your camera where you have to insert the memory stick.

read the manual, it should tell you which memory card it will take, sonys should take SD

I used to have a Sony digital camera, and as far as I know, you can only use a Memory Stick, Memory Stick Duo or Memory Stick Micro - whichever your camera takes. All of these are made by Sony, and therefore quite expensive. Unfortunately, Sony merchandise usually means you're restricted to buying Sony parts.

You can buy cheaper Memory Sticks on eBay, but beware - some of them are fakes and may not function properly. My advice would be to buy from somewhere reputable, but cheaper than the shops, like Amazon or Play.com. You can guarantee getting original memory sticks then. It's not worth getting a dodgy fake, because they can suddenly fail and you'll lose everything on your camera - NOT good.

It's highly unlikely that your camera will take SD cards, so definitely check the manual before you buy anything.
