Does a parrots cage need to be covered at night? I just received a parrot with cage. I was advised to cover it but just curious to why. Anybody with the expertise, please advise. Thanks for your time

It can help give the bird a feeling of security, and can help it to sleep if there is artificial light around:

It helps to calm them down. When the cage is covered they won't squak all night long and keep you awake.
