Hello Stranger and Amber Heights strong in the Tracy Island Handicap
Sixteen three-year-old and above have gathered for the Class 5 Tracy Island Handicap. The five furlong and 13 yard race will be held on Wednesday, 3rd October. The prize money promised to the winner of the event is £2,264. The audience will have to come at terms with the highly modest level of competition in the field due to the struggling form of most of the runners. Even with sixteen entered, just two have won in their most recent outing.
The Tim Easterby trained, chestnut colt, Hello Stranger, will race the second outing of the career after clearing the maiden at the first asking.
He opened diverse racing avenues for himself by taking down the field of thirteen in the Deloitte/British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Stakes on 10th September, 2012 at Newcastle race course over five furlongs.
Paired up with jockey, Duran Fentiman, the three-year-old Irish chestnut colt defeated, Red Baron, by 1 ¼ lengths.
Redback’s son retains the maiden winning jockey, and is backed by 7 to 1 odds for making the most out of the second career outing.
The fifth stall has raced and won over distance more than what presents itself today, and the ground conditions are in his favour too, good to soft.
Another note worthy entry in the competition is the four-year-old bay filly, Amber Heights. She posted in the debut success of the career that comprises of two seasons, in the most recent racing attempt.
After an unbearably long spell of unfortunate losses, the Henry Candy trained landed the Bathwick Tyres Apprentice Handicap on 15th September, 2012 at Bath race course over 5 ½ furlongs.
It was her first time with jockey, Amy Scott, and the duo edged past the fiercest rival, Brandywell Boy, by just half-length.
Amber Heights once again gets the chance to join teams with her partner in success, Amy Scott. She has her chances at 8 to 1, and has been allotted the sixteenth gate to race from.
The race presents nothing out of the ordinary, and will fail to put those under pressure who have already excelled through past experiences.
