i am 24, my fiance and i missed miscarried in feb 08, i had a d&c on 27th feb, left it 3 months, then tried again in june, i fell pregnant straight away end of june beggining of july, however this friday i had brown stuff not alot but enough to be concerned, then saturday i had stomach cramps and red bleeding, then sunday, monday, tuesday and today nothing, i went for an emergencey scan this morn at 8:40. i had an eternal one, they checked my uterus and at that point there was nothing there, it was fairly thin too, she checked both ovaries they are perfectly normal, i have a slanted uterus which apparntly is normal, thier not too sure if i have miscarried or not so have done blood tests for a pregnancey test, i was just wondering how long do you bleed with a m/c, also if you were me would you have s*x normally now or wait for an af and the results of the blood tests, i feel fine in myself theres apparently no reason realy to wait for an af but some people say wait for one as its easier to sort out dates, what would you do in my possition? has anyone been in this possition? thank-you for all of the answers, much appreciated, if you have a story please do tell me, love stacey xx

  1. i'm sorry to hear about your loss.

I had a miscarriage on April 8, 2008 and bleed for 8 weeks straight before the dr's decided to give me a d & c on June 10. My doctor advise me that I could start trying again asap... but recommended that I wait until i was emotionally ready before anything esle. he also said that most dr's prefer if you have 3 good menstrual cycles before starting again but that is just for the dr's to have a good estimated due date incase you become pregnant. But my doctor told me it was totally up to me....

after a d & c  or miscarriage it is good not to have s*x or even a bath for atleast 2 full weeks. That way your chances of getting an infections is less. If you get an infection.. it can caused scar tissue on your uterus and will give you more problems conceiving later on.

    I hope this information helps...

    and good luck...

  2. I had a miscarriage at 9 /10 weeks. I had so much bleeding and lots of pain at that point. I there was no doubt I had a miscarriage.

Depending on how far along you are, you may be to early to see anything on the screen at this point. The first sign of a visible fetal pole is at 6 weeks pregnant. Sometimes bleeding can be normal in small amounts.

My mother told me that when she was pregnant with me, she passed a clot the size of a plum. She thought for sure she had miscarried but a few weeks later, she went in for an ultrasound and there I was on the screen.

If by chance, you have miscarried this time, I would try again as soon as you're ready... but rule out the miscarriage first before becoming sexually active. Sometimes when there is bleeding in a healthy pregnancy, a doctor will tell you to give s*x a rest for a while until the afterbirth moves further up in the womb.

(my sis got pregnant right after a miscarriage @ 5 weeks and had a healthy baby girl)

  3. I had the same symptoms as you...I was pregnant back in January '08.  I started with brown spotting, then uncontrollable cramping, and then blood.  I went in for a vaginal ultrasound and found out what I had was a tubal pregnancy.  My levels were climbing, but not doubling like they were supposed to.  It really was devastating to me, but the earlier you catch it the better off you are or it can cause your tube to rupture.  Good luck...I hope everything works out for you.
