I have kept it as instucted. ie: light shade, above 12 degrees c and fed it with plant food but it is now down to just 2 stems left and 1 of those is dieing. Are butterfly palms notoriously difficult to grow?

  1. Hi  there,

I did a bit of research for you. i'm not sure if this will help you, but here goes. Butterfly palm plants are planted throughout sub-tropical and tropical climates Soil pH requirements. Maybe you're not giving it enough sun perhaps? The soil pH requirements are 6.1 to 6.5 (mildly acidic), so perhaps the soil is wrong. The Yellow Butterfly Palm is vulnerable to ganoderma rot.

Hope this helps you a little.
