Both. They each have something to offer. Dogs are loyal and warm, and love your attention. Cats are graceful, and elegant, and don't require too much fuss to take care of.

I love them both, but I have had only cats so far.

Dogs are wonderful and warm and friendly and come when you call. Yesterday, I saw this nice young man with his puppy and this puppy was so happy. He was wagging his tail like crazy and went right up to people as if to say, Hi, I love you, can we be friends? I just felt so happy looking at them together.

I love cats because I probably was a cat in another life. They are shy and mysterious and unique. They also love you in another way, their way and once you realize that they are the boss, everything is wonderful.

Haha, I love both and have both but I kinda prefer cats too for the same reason. I have three tabbies and they're just as independent as I am and I love that about them. One time I forgot to open their bag of cat food and when I got back home they had chewed a hole through the bag themselves..rofl. They were helping themselves to the food when I walked in and gave me a "thanks for nothing" look. They're affectionate when they want to be and stay out of your way when you need them to. I like dogs too though when I have a lot of energy and feel like playing out in the yard. Plus they're very loyal and wait for you by the door when you come home, tails wagging with joy :o)  I just don't like having to take my dog outside to handle his business, especially when it's cold outside.They actually both have their pros and cons though and now that I think about it I love my cats and dog equally.

Even though I love dogs, I have to say that I'm a cat person. Dogs need a lot of care and attention and I'm the type of person that loves care and attention myself. I never had a dog though and would love to own one
