  1. I assume you never finished highschool and never went to college.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Watt

  2. 1000 watts is a kilowatt,so if you were to have your radio on for 5 hours you would be charged 1 kilowatt which in Australia it costs about 12cents per kilowatt hour used(1000watts). Another eg,If your refrigerator was 4000watts or 4 kilowatts it would cost 4 x 12cents per kilowatt hour, all appliances vary in wattage you must check the specification on each item to see how many watts the particular item uses, Basically it is the amount of energy your item uses the lower in wattage the less expensive it will be to run.Hope this helps & happy listening on the Radio. (check in your Country for cost per kilowatt hour).

  3. Watts are how much electrical power the unit draws. Sometimes its expressed as amps, short for amperes, of current. The conversion between the two is easy. Amps equals watts divided by the voltage, which in the US is standardized at 110 volts. If you know the current draw in amps, the watts equals the amp times the voltage. In this case your radio draws 1.8 amps. This is good to know so you don't overload a circuit or use too light of an extension cord for the current being drawn. Not a problem with a radio usually, they don't draw a large amount, but larger appliances or power tools can draw a lot more. For instance a power saw could draw 10 amps or 1,100 watts and a refrigerator or washing machine could draw even more.
