hi i have an apple snail that i like to spoil

what hi-calcium foods can i feed him

i was told cuttlebone but wont that increase the tanks PH

also what else do they like besides

apple

lettuce

and pea

  1. Hello, all 3 mentioned above are vegetables, they contain vitamin C not CALCIUM!! Perhaps, snails don't eat vegetable or fruit, its unhealthy for them. You can try reptile pellets that sink underwater, reptile pellets contains calcium, and they have to sink otherwise snails won't swim up to the water surface and eat it.

    The best is the brown sands inside the animal bone, these are all calcium, or you can buy sand in petstore, sands contain high calcium as well, which is healthier for your snails because they can eat them anytime without making your water dirty.


  2. You could also try blanched cucumber, courgette, carrot and algae wafers.
