I know I'd pay out the *** for a tv at rent-a-center but it seems it would be nearly the only option I have. So I was wondering if I payed say half of the original price would it make the payments cheaper for rent to own...thanks

  1. Rental places are probably the most expensive way to buy a TV. I don't know what the exact terms are, but interest rates at some of these places can be as high as 80%. This is loan shark territory.

Ask yourself if spending your money on a fancy TV is the best use of your limited funds. If you're concerned about the digital TV transition, you can still get two $40 coupons from the government to apply toward a $60 converter box.

TV prices are still coming down. If you're really intent on an HDTV, and, as you said, you could come up with half the cost, why not wait a while and put a little money away each month, until you can buy one outright. There are perfectly good HDTVs of 26 to 32 inches for $500-$750.

  2. Dont go to Rent A Center, I got one for a Total of $212 doing 3 offers online. See my links in resources, submit your zipcode, get the full offer details, complete the requirements and get your HDTV for FREE. Like i said i got mine for $212, I will include some links i found below. See the sources to Free HDTV's you just submit your zip code, no obligation and get the full details.

  3. Purchasing a TV or anything else from a rental-place is the WORST thing to do.  GO to WAL MART and apply for a credit card and buy  your TV there if you are that hard up for a TV.

  4. no payment will be the same however it wont take as long to get it payed off that way
