Hello everyone i am trying to delete a program on my computer but when i am triyng to delete it this messgae ?

is coming up " cannot delete the program it is being used by another person or program close any programs that might be using the file and try again" the strange part is there is nothing open when this is happening so i dont know what could be using the file please help. Thanks

turn off pc and restart and check again if did`t worked then use anti-virus or spyware

Shutdown and restart windows, the program may not be running initially.

Use the control panel to uninstall software

Assuming that its not a vital part of windows, run windows task manager (ctrl-shift-esc) to check what applications and processes are running.  This can be used to stop applications or process but if you get the wrong one, windows will crash.

Finally suspect a virus

google ccleaner and install it.  While it installs just untick the boxes as some you dont want.

run the cleaner in windows/applications but dont tick the bottom 11 boxes in the Windows Tab.

run the registry cleaner as well, when it asks to back up the registry , allow it to do it, then clean the registry.

Also ccleaner will uninstall programs that you may have difficulty with in add/remove, or there is a file missing.

Just ensure you tick the one program and not the whole computer to delete.

right click on anywhere on the task bar & click on the task manager to find the memory hog in processes for all users, then click on end process. goggle  heidi.ie & download eraser for windows and remember when you delete something normally it only goes to the recycle bin. Eraser removes anything you don't want on your hard driver permanently it you make it do 35 passes on each item; also Spybot S&D can do this for you download the latest version from savemybutt.com

*IMPORTANT* Make sure it's nothing urgent, like in C:\Windows\, and C:\Program Files\ may be pushing it a bit. If none of it applies, download Unlocker below, make sure that then right-click the file that you want to delete and click "Unlocker" , then select the file in the list, Select "Delete" from the pull-down menu in the lower-left corner, then hit "Kill Process", and it should ask you if you want to close the file holding it (e.g. if you try it with a Word document, it'll close Microsoft Word). Afterwards if the box is still open, hit "Unlock All" (but re-open Unlocker if it did close).

You may try restart your system and delete it. What kind of file you are trying to delete? There are lots of process running at the background eventhough there is no program is running. So one of those bakcground application may using those file. Or maybe your computer is virus infected and the virus is runing those program and can cause this problem.

Close the File and then try to delete.

then click on Processes

find the program in the list then select

then Click on End Process

then click on the other message OK

then delete the program
